On my trip to Rudolstadt I had the opportunity to play a gig in the garden of the great German poet and philosopher Friedrich Schiller.
Arriving at the venue I found that the stage was set up in the glare of the hot afternoon sun and that Tommy Gorny (who was playing Rudolstadt with me) and I would be roasted after the first song. We decided to play unplugged under the tree in Mr.Schillers garden and had a remarkable gig right there. The listeners lounging around on the grass listened intently to the songs. It was a real treat to have that kind of an ambience and a suitable audince as well. We also had a great evening before that at the 'Kleinkunstbühne' in the town center. In the sweltering heat we pumped through the songs. Here also a wonderful audience. For pics on both of these events check the gallery here . Fotos are courtesy of Frank Weber.
I also enjoyed two wonderful gigs in Rudolstadt with Fleadh particularly the Saturday afternoon gig in the hanging gardens of a refurbished old villa in the town. All in all a great weekend. It would be pleasure to play Rudolstadt again, Saoirse |
