Saoirse Mhór, Frank Dürschner, Frank Weber, Tommy Gorny, Marcus Eichenlaub, Anna Hachulla Fotos Bernd Mohr Fleadh, is a projekt that Saoirse joined at the end of 2007 in search of a new musical adventure with a strong Irish vein. Fleadh's roots go back as far as 1999. Frank Weber ( Uílleann Pipes, Low Whistles, Tin Whistles & Bodhrán) is the one remaining founder member of that early phase. Many band members have come and gone. Other long serving members still on board are Tommy Gorny ( Guitar, voc ) and Frank Dürschner ( Banjo, Mandolin & voc.). Recent or new arrivals include Marcus Eichenlaub on the fiddle, Anna Hachulla (voc.) and Saoirse. Aware of the dangers being involved in a band setup and despite a few setbacks at the beginning, the band has finally found it's direction and has survived the early stages involving rehearsals and demo work. Fleadh are working on the concept of playing and mixing Irish songs with jigs and reel sets with an emphasis on vocal harmonies and intricate guitar work. There is a respect for the Irish tradition and there will be no 'acid irish' or punk elements involved, which is all too eminent around the Irish scene here in Germany at the moment. The band believe in a good presentation combined with the enjoyment of singing and playing. The pipes, mandolin and fiddle section are well weathered session players who are constantly active around the Pfalz/ Baden Württemberg Irish music scene. The boys are regularly in Ireland on sessions as well. Tommy Gorny's guitar playing is the foundation on which a lot of the material is based - always a driving, and pulsating sound. Anna Hachulla's wonderful voice brings a softness and clarity into the line up and her involvment and experience with Dhalia's Lane is a plus for Fleadh. Saoirse settles in between singing with Anna or singing solo and creating and playing guitar arrangments with Tommy. Fleadh are looking forward to up and coming events in 2009 and you can keep up with their achievements over at the Fleadh website or at You Tube and My Space . Fleadh dates will be posted here at www.saoirsemhor.com. Booking arrangements can be made with Tommy also over at the Fleadh site or contact Saoirse here through his contact details.
